Julie has a strong visual sense, an intuitive understanding of space, and a love of making things beautiful — she drew her first house plans in elementary school. After many years under the tutelage of her friend and mentor, Stuart McFeely, an architect in Seattle, Julie branched out to build her own design practice and consultancy.

She's drawn to work that aligns with her design ethos of joy, authenticity, and approachability — collaborating with clients who see home as a sanctuary from the world, whether that home is for themselves or for others, and who want to invest in their homes as an extension of their lives, values, and passions.

Julie loves a good treasure hunt and has a keen eye for unearthing bespoke home goods and vintage oddities from unexpected sources. High-low mixing, lived-in, collected interiors are where she excels and feels most at home.

Alongside that design sensibility, she brings deep practical experience — drafting plans, navigating building and land-use codes, and permitting projects efficiently. She's worked at every scale, from residential garages and a bike shed to multimillion-dollar custom homes. Her sweet spot is somewhere in the middle.
